Microsoft Office 365: New Capabilities for Kiosk Workers

 

Greetings !

 

In a recent announcement , Microsoft has made a few improvements to its Exchange Kiosk Plan available under its flagship Office365 Cloud offering. In its earlier avataar, it had the following capability :

1) 500 MB of mailbox size

2) Only web based access

Then Microsoft added POP and IMAP support meaning that now one could use Outlook to connect to the online mailbox.

In the most recent announcement, Microsoft has made significant improvements. The main stuff is:

1) Doubling mailbox size from 500 MB to 1 GB

2) Support of Active sync so that Kiosk workers can also get emails on mobiles

3) support for Exchange Archive

These improvement can be offered on the fly as they are part of Cloud Service .
