New requirements for Small Business Specialist

Greetings !

As a Partner Area Lead for SBSCs in India , I take part in Quarterly Conference Calls with PALs all over the World . Yesterday night I just finished my Quarterly Call. We had Paul O’Connell who is the Architect for Next Gen Partner Program. He gave us a glimpse of the next Microsoft Partner Program the details of which will be announced in the forthcoming WPC in July 2009.

What is of immediate concern is that there has been a change in the SBSC Program requirements . Currently , for the Technical Exam, partners have to clear 70-282 . That has now changed. The new SBSC’s have an option of clearing any of the following exams:

70-653     SBS 2008

70-654     EBS 2008

70-655      OEM   ( Windows Vista & Server Installation , pre-installations for OEMs

More important is a fact that for existing SBSC’s you have time till October 2010 to ensure you clear any one of the above papers if you have to continue as Small Business Specialist .

So , the message is clear. Partners who want to become  Small Business Specialist, focus on any of the above 3 exams  and NOT 70-282.  Existing SBSCs   SHOULD upgrade to the above by OCTOBER 2010.

with warm regards
